YAGAN SQUARE REVITALISATION PROJECT

The relocation of the Hiss & Smoke restaurant created a set of unique challenges for the Coordinated Fitouts + Renovations Team.

The main challenge was in the upgrade of the mechanical services, specifically, the kitchen exhaust as Hiss & Smoke uses a solid in the form of the Charcoal Ichiban Grill and regular fueled stove tops and grills. Each area required a separate exhaust and fan system with separate velocities but was made to look like a single exhaust hood for the would-be patron.

Coordinated Fitouts + Renovations was also tasked by the operator with reusing some of the materials from the original Hiss & Smoke such as the timber beams and solid Karri bar.

Build time approx. 7 weeks from base build handover.
